Delhi Car Blast: Jaish-e-Mohammad Fidayeen Video Surfaces; BJP Hits Back at Imran Masood’s Statement

New Delhi: Nearly ten days after the 10 November Delhi car blast, a major development has stirred the political landscape. A video statement by Jaish‑e‑Mohammad fidayeen attacker Dr. Umar Mohammad Nabi has surfaced, triggering a fierce political war of words.

Imran Masood Calls Attacker “Misguided”, Sparks Controversy

Reacting to the video, Congress MP Imran Masood termed the attacker a “misguided youth”, adding that such individuals do not represent Islam. His remarks immediately drew sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

BJP Retaliates Strongly

Speaking in Lucknow, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi launched a scathing attack on the Congress MP. Tripathi alleged that Masood’s remarks reflect the “declared agenda” of the INDIA alliance.

“Imran Masood showing compassion for a terrorist is shameful. Calling a fidayeen attacker a misguided youth is nothing but appeasement politics. The INDIA alliance has repeatedly defended extremists for vote-bank benefits,” Tripathi said.

He further recalled past incidents, accusing several opposition leaders of adopting a sympathetic stance towards terrorists.

Tripathi also cited the Batla House encounter, claiming that Congress leaders had shown emotional support for the slain terrorists.

“No Sympathy for Jihadis,” Says BJP MP Dinesh Sharma

Joining the attack, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma said that there should be no sympathy for any jihadi or extremist.

“A Congress MP calling a terrorist a misguided man does not reflect the mindset of the entire party. Congress must clarify its official stand. Earlier, Congress leaders like Kapil Sibal even fought cases for terrorists,” Sharma said.

He added that leaders like Mehbooba Mufti, Farooq Abdullah, and Omar Abdullah remain silent whenever action is taken against terrorists.

Sharma urged all political parties to adopt a united approach:

“Terrorism must not be linked to any religion, nor should any sympathy be extended to those who indulge in violence against the nation. Those who carry jihadist intentions cannot be loyal to India. Strict punishment is the only answer.”

Political Heat Intensifies

With the fidayeen video resurfacing and political leaders exchanging sharp remarks, the Delhi blast case has once again taken center stage in national politics. Investigative agencies are continuing their probe while political parties battle it out over narratives of terrorism, appeasement, and national security.
