NDA Sweeps Sitamarhi Again: Will Amit Shah Fulfil His Promise of Making Pintu a ‘Big Leader’

The NDA alliance has once again delivered a spectacular performance in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district, securing all eight assembly seats in the 2025 elections—replicating its historic clean sweep from 2010. However, despite this emphatic victory, local residents are deeply disappointed as the district has not received a single ministerial berth in the new government.

NDA Retains All Eight Seats—Shift in Party Balance

In 2010, both BJP and JD(U) had won four seats each. In 2025, though the NDA has repeated the clean sweep, the distribution changed:

• 1 seat went to Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM
• 1 seat to Chirag Paswan’s LJPR
• JD(U) fell from four to two seats
• BJP successfully retained its four seats

Despite internal reshuffling, the overall dominance of the NDA remains intact.

The Parihar assembly segment has seen a unique political journey. Created in 2010, it has been dominated by the Yadav family:

• 2010: Ram Naresh Yadav won
• 2015: Wife Gayatri Devi elected
• 2020: Gayatri Devi re-elected
• 2025: Gayatri Devi completes a hat-trick

Despite her consistent victories and strong local support, she has not been inducted into the cabinet. Residents say the district deserves ministerial representation for faster development.

During campaign rallies, Union Home Minister Amit Shah publicly appealed to voters to elect Sunil Kumar Pintu, calling him “a close friend” and promising to “make him a big man”.
Pintu went on to win for the fourth time, yet his name did not appear in the list of ministers.

Locals now hope Amit Shah will honour his promise.

Residents of Sitamarhi—famed as the land of Goddess Sita—say it is unfair that despite giving all eight seats to the NDA, the district failed to secure a ministerial post.
On social media, demands are rising to appoint either Sunil Kumar Pintu or Gayatri Devi as ministers.

1. RCC bridge needed near Sundarpur in place of the fragile screw-pipe bridge.

3. Bridge required in Mushahari Dalit Tola of Dema Panchayat.
4. Road construction needed in Sundargama Harijan Tola.
